This has perplexed me somewhat, but not for Earl.
Yes, it is a UPA sanctioned event, yet Cory Deuel is playing in it?!
Anyone know why? I thought he left the UPA and wouldn't be playing in any UPA events?

i was actually going to start a post about this subject too. it looks like more allen hopkins B******* at this years tournament. No Efren, no Bustamante, yet both are advertised as headliners on the superbilliardsexpo.com website. I am almost tempted to buy the 230.00 'Platinum VIP Pass' and then walk right up to Allen with it and demand my money back because he advertised Efren and Django and neither one are there.
This one isn't Allen's fault, but it perplexes me. Where is Jim Rempe? I know he must be on site because Meucci is a displaying vendor, but he's not on the chart and this tournament is literally in his backyard. This would be his second consecutive nonappearence in a Philadelphia area event, the first being the Capital City Classic last fall.
It really burns me up how Allen gets fat every year off of this event, yet always fails to deliver what is advertised, never increases the prize fund and wonders why he is not in the hall of fame. I should mention that he was spotted at The Borgata 2 Saturdays ago drunk as a skunk and playing 10/20 holdem. Maybe he should have been making arrangements to deliver Efren and Bustamante to the event as advertised instead of sitting on his rump playing cards and downing cocktails.

I like watching Allen play and haven't heard too many bad things about him. Harsh words for a legend but maybe he deserves it for reasons I am not aware about. Drinking and gambling are what casinos are for - hard to knock someone for that. Commentary with Laurence on ESPN is a different story...
