Schon, made in China?
LOL!
That's just an advertisement.
Walmart puts all kinds of things online. They will sell anything, obviously. No, it isn't made in China if it's a Schon.
There is nothing to figure out. There have been accusations even in this forum about Schon and JOSS importing cues. Not true. What you heard is wrong.
A few years ago there were problems with counterfeit JOSS cues that were Asian made. I believe Mr Janes himself may have posted about it here, but you can Google it if you are interested. Chinese made counterfeit products are a problem. If you do find a suspicious Schon I would contact Schon about it right away. Counterfeits have actually put some companies out of business.
One example of a company the was put out of business by Chinese counterfeits was Miller & Kreisel. They invented the satellite/subwoofer sound systems that Bose copied (poorly I might ad, Bose sucks but that's another topic). They also outfitted the Sony studios among others. They were huge. Many soundstages in Hollywood were M&K based systems. I have a wonderful old 80's M&K sub and precious few subs on the market today can touch it, and probably not for less than $3,000 can one get something that can even qualify to compare with it. They are back in business now but are not the same company and never will be. All of their old stock and parts was sold off years ago when the company closed.
The real question is why one would shop for a cue at Walmart.

If you really want a new Schon and are worried about possible counterfeits then contact Schon. I am sure they can either sell you one or refer you to one of their dealers.
