Where to buy ready to finish shafts

2 places off the top of My head that I can think of, and I believe you can get final sanding shafts from are Chris Hightower, and Atlas supply.:) Greg

I see Joe got his post in before Mine. The first and last links he listed are the same as what I mention here. I've dealt with both on shafts in the past, and the shafts were good quality.

Their OB1 is a fantastic shaft ready to fit to the butt of your choice.

The other places offer shafts ready to sand but are they the taper profile you really want?

ive tried every one.
atlas to me are the best
come in 13mm and 13.5mm
i get the 13mm
after i put the ferrule tip and joint in i sand it with 220 then 320 then 400 then 600.
then use hightower sealer sand lightly with 600 and then hightower wax. comes out like glass!!!

i had as very specific request last week and even though chad isnt there anymore the new guy dan looked through 100 shafts for me for a specific one.

he might not do it again but he really helped me out. i was building a shaft for a super high end cue. if he is reading this thanks!!! it was perfect

I believe I got a flyer in the mail recently that said Dominak (sp?) was offering them again. What was the company name he used...Cuestock? I used some from him before and they were great and so was the prices. If I needed finished turn shafts that would be were I'd look first.;)

This is true. It's been a while since I've used any, but judging from back then, and what I received here was My take- Altough They do have good tapers, (well atleast I liked Chris's), that depends on if It's what someone wants as you say, and if not, the only option is to sand them in, if room even allows for that, which is what I did with the atlas shafts, and it was more sanding then i would have liked to do, but the shafts came out good in the end. I turn My own from dowel now for the most part, but if still buying those final tapers, I'd probably go with Chris's, cause I really liked the feel of those, but the few We got were from his higher grade stock, so they cost alittle more, but he gave me the GPI range and density I asked for. The taper didn't seem to be an issue on those, because It was already close to what I wanted at the time anyway.:)
