Where to find Shaft Dowels

I am having a hard time finding good shaft dowels at an affordable price. I am willing to buy in quanity to get a reduced price. The places I bought from before don't sell them anymore, and Bell Forest has been out for over 6 months. Can anyone help me find some? Would even be willing to go in with someone on a larger order to get a better price.

There always are the standard suppliers such as Praether and Atlas but their prices are usually not very competative. I was teling people where I've been getting my shaft blanks for the last 10 years and the owner called me to thank me for the increased business he is recieving from my reccomendations. 3 weeks later he raised the price on the dowells 2.00. I, like most cue-makers, am now staying close lipped with my suppliers.

I am one of those suppliers Dick is being tight lipped about and I am considering raising my prices $1 per dowel also. The mills are saying board foot price has gone up again. I just got a smaller pallet in and have already sold 80% of it to our International Cuemakers Members. I have a couple of boxes of 40 for $6.25 per dowel plus shipping ready to ship and then I will have to wait on another pallet. This last pallet was cut late winter which gave the over all mix about one shade darker color than normal, but the wood is fairly clean.

Just got three dozen shafts from cue components

Solid shafts and I'll be ordering a few dozen more. I don't have any intention of turning out hundreds of cues so I don't buy much at a time.
