Cost is not a factor.

Which cloth plays better and last longer?

I only have limited experience with the Simonis 860HR that is on my home table.

My league club is getting ready to recover their table. It will only get 20 games of 8-ball per week played on it. What cloth should we get and why?

Thanks

Kevin

Simonis, anything else is just an imitator. But from experience, I think championship cloth puts more wear on the balls in the long run. Once it gets worn it gets shiny but yet has an abrasive feel to it. I'm not expert this is just my opinion.

I had Championship Tour 760 cloth and now 860HR by Simonis.

Simonis, hands down.

The Championship cloth was prone to white marks where the ball was spun, and although I don't think any cloth is immune to it, I've seen less of it with the Simonis.*

The feel of the cloth is better, too. Went with Tournament Blue over green, although the Simonis Green was almost my choice.

I will also say that the Championship Tour lasted for over a decade, and I have only had the new cloth for 13 months or so. It wore well, and was a bit faster. Thread count played into that, I'm sure.

No regrets with the 860HR.

* I did change from Super Aramith Pros to Tournaments at the same time, so this may have something to do with it, also.
