...the ring in my avatar into custom ringwork for a cue?

I have been looking for cuemakers who can make this ring into ringwork, and so far only one has told me he can do it (Thanks S. :D). All the others either can't do it or never got back to me or followed up with me. I was hoping to have more cuemakers to try out.

So, with all the cue enthusiasts here on AZF, I am hoping to get some help from all of you. Do you know of any cuemakers who may be able to make this ring into custom ringwork? The same cuemaker would make the cue too, of course. There are a lot of lesser known cuemakers out there, and I am hoping that AZers can bring them to my attention. I know some of the "big boys" can make the ring, but I do not have a fortune to spend. Besides, I want to see what the lesser known makers can do.

Thanks in advance for any help on this. Any contact info, especially email, for any cuemakers you recommend would be greatly appreciated.

Oh, and for those cuemakers who are reading this, if you can make this ring into ringwork, please PM me!

Don't take this the wrong way, but it seems like you are bargain hunting something where bargains don't exist. I can appreciate having wishes and hopes and not having a fortune. That is the lot in life many of us have. On the other hand, it seems to me if a "lesser known cuemaker" could do that kind of work and it was quality work, he would quickly become a "big boy".

Given your name, is the ring from the Norse Mythos? Does your name refer to a particular wolf who had a propensity for biting off hands at judicial hearings?

Kelly: My name is from Norse mythology, and it is from the hand-biting wolf. :) Sometimes known as Fenrir, but I thought Fenris sounded better.

Ringwork: I know that the ring design, which is actually a Tiffany ring, requires some serious skill/equipment/cost to make, but I don't think I'm bargain hunting. My budget for the cue is $1500-$1800, for pretty much a "fancy jane". Considering Paul Mottey charges $1500 for a completely basic cue, with nothing, I feel the big boys are out of my price range. Having said that, I did send an email to Samsara, which I know can make the ring. I might also want to try Prather as well the suggested Thomas Wayne, although I'm pretty sure Wayne will charge too much for me.

Anyway, does anyone have Thomas Wayne's contact info, especially email?

I had not heard the correct spelling 'Fenrir' before. I am a bit familiar with the Mythos though. I always thought Freya was pretty hot. :D

No, "bargain hunting" was probably not the most accurate way I could have phrased my thought. $1500-$1800 is certainly a serious sum. I was just trying to say that I think there are very few options, and all of them will require serious $ from someone known for doing that kind of work. But you never know until you ask.

I would make the cue for you...but you would have to wait a very long time for me to learn to do it. :D

Seriously, if you do end up having that work done, I would love to see it.

When you contacted me about this some time ago, I think I forgot to show it to my son. Where all are you wanting that design in the cue?

I have been looking for cuemakers who can make this ring into ringwork,
Do you want the ring, or do you want a facsimile/inspiration ring? For a cast ring assembled into the cue, I would call Richard Chudy. For ringwork that is inspired by that ring, Thomas Wayne and Bill Schick would probably be the best choices.

I guess I should clarify a bit. The main element of the ring I want is the intertwining strands. I would love to get the 3D look as well, but I know that would seriously increase the difficulty and cost, so I can live with just the intertwining strands.

One cuemaker contacted me and said that a cuemaker who specializes in butterfly points should be able to make the ring easily. Unfortunately, the cuemaker himself could not make it as his waiting list is like 5 years and he no longer takes orders.

Kelly: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fenris. Apparently Fenrir is more accurate than Fenris.
