ive seen 2 different cues lately for sale......with the large gold piloted(?) screw joint.....the sellers say it might be kersenbrock, but hte cuemaker is unknown. Does anybody know of a production cue or another cuemaker who uses that screw? Is there something else to look for to tell if it is or isnt a kersenbrock?
thanks

capone uses the big brass radial pin...is this what you are talking about

South West uses a brass 3/8 x 11 pin. Pete Ohman (omen cues) out of Florida also uses the same size screw in gold. A lot cue makers will use a radial pin on request. Capone does, Weston will with a little coaxing, Dayton does too.

If you could get a photo of the joint pin from the top (about 45 degrees off) and one of the butt cap area it could help.

Skip took more than a little coaxing, lol. In the end he was very accomodating, though I don't see him switching to the Radial Pin for his cues anytime soon.

Mohawks did and Rick Howard does (my southwest shaft fits on my Howard)
Kersenbrocks are hard to determine. I was sure my old cue was a Kersenbrock due to the big open end on the pin and the thicker than normal chains, but when I sent it ti Southwest for refinish and verification I was told that it was a very early Southwest (real early). At that time Southwest was buying their pins from an outside source was what Laurie Franklin told me.
Good luck.
