Im in the market for a jump cue and I have a few ideas of my own, but i'd like to hear what everyone else's favorites are so I can try a bunch out and make a well educated decision. thanks.

I use Jerico Stinger jump break. Jerry Powers is the maker and I'm pretty sure he's now in business with a large cue company. They have a phenolic tip or Jerry designed his own really hard leather tip. I had my original tip changed to his leather tip by him. It jumps good, but I thought the other was better.

I first used a Lucasi jump/break, which was terrrible. Then went to a J&J jump/break which was good. Then, I decided I wanted to have a "stand-a-lone" if you will, and so got a Jacoby which I would certainly recommend. However, my current one is, by far, the best I've ever used. It is a custom by Mark Bear out of Fredricksburg, VA. It has a purpleheart shaft, which is a dense wood and the tip is a Tiger hybrid (hard leather center with a phenolic collar). Awesome cue! Recommend it highly. Just google Mark Bear for his contact info, if interested.

I like the Predator Air Jump. It has all the facets of a great Jump Cue. I sold all my custom jump cues but one & I'll sell it soon. The Air Jump is by far the best.

Air hog or lomax

I tried probably 6-7 different jump cues when I was in Vegas last year and I think the Air Hog was the worst, for me anyway. The older model Lucasi performed much better. I liked the way the Tiger J/B performed, but that thing is just way too overpriced.

The old wooden Lucasi is much better than the Air Hog for me. I'll usually end up using my Xbreaker jump/breaker in matches though. But I'll also carry around a Scorpion jump cue with a Dale Chilton tip on it and a Chilton Flying Eagle for those tight jams.

The Air Drive from Mezz. That is what Mika is using and several other Pro's. Comes with 2 shafts and even my 10 year old jumps balls with the cue.
If you go with custom then Lomax should be a no brainer.

If you don't want to spend the money for the Lomax the Lucasi is a good option but a little heavier. If you wanted a Jump/Break the only jump break I have every hit with that actually had jumped like a jump cue should was an original Sledgehammer.
