I'm going to replace the tip on my jump break and I want something leather. I have heard good things about odega and taom tips for breaking and I have tried samsara myself. my question is of those three (odega, taom, and samsara) which one jumps the best? if there is another leather tip that jumps better than those three I would be excited to hear about it as well. thanks in advance.

I think the Odega is amazing! I haven't used the other 2 tips, so I can't comment on the Toam and Samsara.

Is that Toam actually Taom tips?
they are not leather but they have same "feel" at them. They jump so good it is almost cheating IMO. I tested them when they released them.

Yes that's what I meant lol, thanks for correcting that. When you say same feel does that mean that they grab the cue ball like leather rather than the deflecting feel you get from phenolic? Is it easy to control the cue ball with them?

How does it jump?

I think it jumps fantastic. I have it paired with a purple heart jump/break and to be honest, I think it jumps better than other regular jump cues I've used. You barely touch it and the cue ball just launches. I have an average stroke and can jump/draw and jump/masse much better than the few jump cues I've used. Most of the time, I'm just trying to make the ball or get a good hit, but if I ever do need to curve it a little I get twice the action compared to my Pechauer, which is just a jumper. If I'm only jumping over a sliver of the ball, I can easily get 5 or 6 ft of draw on relatively new cloth. I know a few others who use them in the Upper Midwest and say the same. For closer jumps I have short, light extension that seems to work ok, but I rarely try to jump within 3 inches of an impeding ball. The other tips may be better, but I would be surprised if the action from the Odega isn't at least comparable. Good luck with whatever tip you decide on!

Thanks for the info it is much appreciated. if you wouldn't mind answering one more question, how are taom tips at controlling the cue ball when breaking?

I haven't used the taom tips. Do you mean the Odega tips? I would say ok to decent. I struggle at controlling whitey on the break, but I've never had a good break....Prior to this setup, I used a Sledgehammer for a number of years and I believe that has a phrenolic tip? I felt I smashed them a little better with the Sledgehammer, but had less control than with my current set up. I know another poster in this thread mentioned he used the Taom tips and really liked them. He may be able to answer that, if that's what you're looking for.

Best leather tip for jumping: Samsara.
Best tip for jumping: G10

There is no tip that is both very good-great at jumping AND offers great control at breaking.
It's an either, or kinda thing. There are plenty compromises but really you want a break cue
and a seperate jump cue.

Thanks for the input. I would probably be more willing to compromise on the cue ball control as I can always break with my player if I'm having trouble controlling the cue ball however I have found G10 to be. almost impossible to control

That was yesterday Dave  Ok maybe not yesterday.. pre-expo... We released at the expo and I do feel like our Hammerhead does both exceptionally well... But the OP asked about leather so I have left it unmentioned until now.....
