Which Mezz Cue

Hi there,

I am thinking about buying a Mezz cue, but I am still undecided which one of the WD700 series to choose from: ZZ, EC7, AXI, or AYA.

It could be AXI-W, AYA-T, EC7-R or any other cue out of these series. I have also seen some good deals for ZZ cues.

I have a Predator Ikon 1 at the moment and would keep the one I like the most.

Any feedback or recommendation is highly appreciated.

Thank you!

Mezz offers 3 different shafts and 2 different joints.

They each play/feel different and some dealers let you change the shaft when ordering.

Not familiar with the ZZ, but the EC & AYA have the United joint. The AXI has the Wavy joint. United joint will have a harder hit/feel compare to Wavy.

i'm a huge fan of the AXI but if you get a united joint version you can get aftermarket shafts from just about anyone

Thank you, this is great feedback.
The ZZ series is laminated ebony, while AYA and I believe AXI is birdseye maple. How will this affect the feel of the cue?

I believe all AYA use birdseye maple. AXI has some models with birdseye, some with wenge, some with purple heart.

How this affects feel is a good question. All I know is I can easily feel the difference between the Wavy joint (AXI & ACE) and United joint (EC & AYA).

Where have you seen great deals for Mezz cues? They're ALL expensive AFAIK!

The feedback is great - the deals are just good :)

The AXI series at billiardwarehouse seems to be a good deal and some of the ZZ cues at pooldawg are available with 30% discount.

I have two of the:

Don't ask me why I have two. And I have a :
http://www.monsterbreakbilliards.com/mezz-cue-z606.html

I strayed for a while, sold the z606. It was too fancy for me, felt I was not playing good enough to be playing such an expensive cue.

I decided to buy the back then cheap ZZSP instead. I feel they play almost identical, they hit very solid and consistent.

After the ZZSP I decided to try Schon because I like a stiff hitting cue. Bought a STL 11 and got rid of it in two weeks time.

Finally my friend whom I sold the z606 to asked me if I wanted to buy it back. He was looking to get a new pair of golf shoes. I got it back for 200$.

At this time I was playing with a:

Obviously I was into the rosewood, white and turqoise thing. At the time I got the Mezz z606 back I was playing alright with the Predator. When I started playing with the Mezz again it was like coming home. Everthing about this cue/series of cues feels so right for me. I went from the original Z-shaft to the WD700 in a day.

I love Mezz, and I truly feel my Mezz loves me back. Lol.
