As I am new to the game of 3-cushion billiards, I want to learn as much as I can about the sport, the players, the equipment (cues, tables, etc.) and the theories about play. Which magazine(s) would you recommend as having the best coverage of 3-cushion -- domestic or international? Is there a magazine that is solely dedicated to 3-cushion? Or does 3-cushion share a small space with the majority of the coverage being on pocket billiards... kind of like this sub-forum at AZBilliards? Thanks.

www.professorqball.com [Professor-Q-Ball]

Also older Billiards Digest with Bill Smith, Robert Byrne, and Bob Jewett articles pre 1980- 1996 issues and Pool & Billiards Magazine earlier issues can be found in pdf format at their website.

Also search my past posts/threads for more information.

Join the USBA! You will get Professor QBall's magazine that follows 3 cushion around the world and offers frequent insite to players.

As far as the equipment goes, I bought many many carom cues in a search for the hit and look that I liked most. The buck stopped with Dieckman.

Dennis Dieckman cues and good lessons from a competent instructor have led to the best appreciation of a table game ever for me. These days I feel like I did at 18 when I was learning pocket billiards for the first time. Carom, especially 3-cushion, has become the most exciting of all games for me.

Lastly, take a trip to the Carom Cafe in Flushing, NY. There you will encounter the best equipment, the best service, and a gathering of the finest players in the nation. If there isn't a huge event elsewhere in the country, you stand a good chance of playing alongside several former national champions on any given day.

On my last trip to the Carom Cafe, I played a $15 entry handicap tournament and I drew Hugo Patino. Yes I lost, but I came 2 billiards away from the biggest upset since Davit hit Goliath with a six-ball.

Well... I just learned that with my USBA membership I will receive Professor Q-Ball's 3-Cushion News monthly. GREAT! Lots of benefits to membership...

So to revise my question a little... which of these OTHER magazines would you recommend for a 3-cushion player?

Billiards Digest
Pool & Billiard
Inside Pool
Pool Player

Kind of hard to know if there is any consistent 3C content from the web descriptions...

None of your additional list do much for 3C. They might mention the major tournaments but that's it.

Disappointing.

I subscribe to a online content magazine that covers carom billiards. The Magazine is from France and is called Kozoom ( Kozoom.com). It is fairly new in charging people a subscription for certain content in the Magazine. I like the magazine cause it covers most of the carom games. It has articles, pictures, videos, and live streams. Two options in payment the first is one lump sum of 84 Euro , and the second is 12 euro a month. I pay monthly.
