So you pull your cue back, then your brain sends out that "go ahead" signal to your stroke arm, and you pull the trigger. Which part of your arm initiates the chain of movement?
 
the stroke is a contraction of your bicep....if anything else is involved you are most likely doing something wrong..

It all begins and ends with the elbow making it the forearm down to the wrist moving in one direct motion. The wrist area stays loose keeping the grip solidly enabling sensitivity throughout the stroke. Your entire body remains inactive, yet well-balanced. In a power shot, I initiate with the tension in my point of balance somewhere between my hips. In martial arts, we call it the 'center of power' or 'dan jun'. It is the fundamental principle for any body movement involving control.
