Which profession has more challenges pool player, tournament organizer or pool room owner?

Room owners seem to be suffering the worse, while most tournament organizers haven't suffered major cutbacks.

Tournament organizers are like people that run a town festival, its a big one day event.

Room owners have to keep regular customers and big spenders happy.

Pro players endure the months on the road.

Room owners have the hardest time because they have the highest ratio of fixed expenses. A room owner has monthly rent, utilities, mainte nance, wages, etc. to pay whether he's got customers or not. A tournament organizer works out of a small office (probably at home) and only hires people when he needs them.

That makes sense of why some pool groupies are bias towards specific promoters. They only have to deal with them a few days out of the year.

The financial aspects are tougher for room owners. But players have to spend time traveling and the time away from the family. Unless they can afford royal weekends to visit the family, they miss out on chances they can't pay to get back.
