Which Snooker match is the BEST of all time?

Without doubt amongst the pro games.

Ask my son though and he will say the first time he ever beat me which was on his 21st birthday.

Two matches come to mind:

The 2002 World final - Ebdon 18 Hendry 17

The Masters final (forget which year) where Paul Hunter comes back from I believe 7-2 down to beat O'Sullivan 9-8. Absolutely awe-inspiring play from Hunter.

1985 Davis vs Taylor is always good to watch, although i'll be honest with you first 20-25 frames weren't greatest snooker. It all came down to last frame which is absolute epic.

I would recommend watching these matches:

1. Mark Williams vs Ronnie Osullivan - 2nd round 2008 World Championships
2. Ronnie Osullivan vs Stephen Hendry in Finals 2008 World Championship. This is the best i've ever seen Ronnie play. His game was just flowing. In post match interview Hendry said that he can only play like that when he is practicing.

It's hard to name a specific one. There are many that are great for several reasons. Couple were already mentioned. Steve Davis vs. Dennis Taylor in World Championship finals in 85, Stephen Hendry vs. Jimmy White in the 92 World Championship finals because of Hendry's 10 frames on the trot to win. Stephen Hendry vs. Ken Doherty in 1994 UK Championship finals where Hendry made 7 centuries in his 10 frame to 5 victory, probably the greatest single performance ever in the game. Ronnie beating Stephen in 2008 World Championship semifinal in a blistering display of breakbuilding and safety. Those last two were great for blow aways. In 1997, the Liverpool Victoria Charity Challenge I would say goes down as one of the best matches ever. Stephen Hendry was up 8-2 on Ronnie O'Sullivan, Ronnie tied it up at 8 all and Stephen knocked in a 147 in the deciding frame to win--with a beautiful opening red might I add. Ronnie's match in the 2007 Northern Ireland Trophy where he scored 5 centuries in a best of 9 match including a 147. And of course two of the highest standard matches when both players were at their best: Ronnie and Stephen playing in the semifinals of the 1999 and 2002 World Championship semifinals. I know I named many, but they are each amazing matches for different reasons.

Nice choice! I would add Alex Higgins vs Steve Davis in the final of the 1983 UK Championship.
