Which tip do the top pro's use?

Just wondering what tips players like Effren, Earl, Mika, Tony Robles, Mike Sigel, etc. use for their playing cue.

Although it's only been an hour and a half since I posted my question, some 20 people have looked at the question, but nary a response 'til now.

It seems to me there is probably a reason pro's use a specific tip, and it's likely more than the hit or feel it gives. I've played with a bunch of different tips, all the Mooris, all the Talismans, LePro, Triangle, some phenolic tips, and a few others.

What I'd like to know is which ones the top pros use. I'm not really interested in the reasons they may give, but just which they use.

Any help would be most appreciated.

They all use different types of tips. A few of them that I know of are using Snipers and Mooris. Others used hardened elkmasters, lepros, and triangles. As for the most popular tip being used, I don't know, but I am guessing either mooris or snipers right now.

I believe Rodney Morris now uses an Everest.

I think they rule.

The same as a moori medium but better feel.(For me anyway!)

How does the feel of the Everest differ from the Moori?

They all use dead animal tips....

Actually this question is a lot like what golf ball do the pros use??? Usually its the one that pays them, and or gives them free golf balls....
 
I think you're getting too caught up in something that isn't worth worrying about. The top players all use different tips, for different reasons. There isn't one particular brand taht everyone likes. More importantly, most top players prefer the tip cut down real low. This gives you a more solid feel to your hit and supposedly doesn't deflect as much. Also, with a low tip, you're not as prone to mushrooming and don't have the feel and hit changing as much, over time.

IMO, I think you should find a tip you like i.e. hard, medium or soft, cut it down so the sidewall is about the thickness of a nickel, shape it to your preference (dime, nickel, quarter, etc) and don't worry about it any more. Just shoot.
