While, for the life of me, I cannot find the post, someone showed a picture of a joint in profile. It was made with a white material and looked like it had a 3/8 or radial pin. Does anyone here know anything about this joint?
Thanks in advance

I think you saw the pic of our new 108 series cue. We use a new joint material called "White Light". Basically it is a thermoplastic, but is fairly light in weight giving us the hit we were looking for.

Here is a picture. the joint screw is actually a 5/16x14, but without the steel joint collar.

And lastly it seems to be an altrenative for a heaier steet 5.16 joiunt. It looked great Will thidjoint br avaiable on OB Cue inb the future So any infomatin about it would be apprcitedn

Kasparov,

The hit isn't really any softer or harder, but it is more lively. You can feel the vibrations better because they are lower frequency.

Here's what happens. Heavy joints tend to have a very high frequency vibration that happens and is over very quickly. Light jointed cues have a much lower vibration frequency that lasts much longer. As far as feel goes, the lower vibration is easier to "feel" what is going on in the hit. The heavier joint makes it easier to "hear" the sound as opposed to feeling it.

Our White Light joint is not capped, it is a sleeve. We have it on some of our new 108 series wrapless cues with a coco handle. Based on the feedback we are getting, we will offer it on others as well. Right now it has the same 5/16x14 joint screw, but we may offer it with some others too. Preliminary testing shows that you can't tell much difference with the screw as long as the joint weight is the same. In other words, it's not the joint screw or wood to wood contact, it's the weight of the joint that makes the difference.

Pricing on this cue is $440.00 with your choice of OB-1 or OB-2 cue shafts! It's allot of cue for the money! And, it's 100% made in the USA!
