the site works pretty good with dial up i think, i know that i had some problems b4 and i'm on cable and guys on dial up didnt get lag

he is young, i am actually glad that he had a heart breaking loss because i think it will motivate him to start practicing, he was a top 5 player on yahoo and he has more skills than most of the top players that have been on pco for awhile, he actually was distracting me in my 3rd round and i was trying to calm him down to no avail

as far as the break goes i only show it to people that i have a part of their payout, but i will say that the person who joins the table last gets to break, i figured it out during the first tourney and a lot of the better players did during the 2nd, in the first tourney i ran 6 racks in a row through rounds 2 3 and 4, i had never made a 8 on the break b4 the other night and made 2 in a row, and then during the tourney it wouldn't stop going, funny it went the same way every time, it went toward the side then got kicked in by another ball, some how the breaks are weirdly random, i hate that it turns into a breakfest instead of something that actually resembles a pool game

i will say that the multiple entries are really determing who advances to the quarters/semis/finals, u r better off putting in 2+ names and then picking the one with the best draw, u will likely profit on all of the names anyways, i didnt do it in the first tourney but when in rome...

i joined one of the mini tournaments but i didn't know where to go afterwards so i was forfeited? i would have thought that they will re-direct me much like party poker when the tournament starts.
 
Cardinal_Syn - for the minis, on the page you actually register on ("Mini Tournaments"), it will say a room name (either "Tournament 9 Ball" or "Tournament 8 Ball"). Just join that room and then keep your tournament page open to see the draw.

i'm c_h_luke now. I was- 12310bch- which is an abbreviation of my address but my opponents thought I was a girl because of the bch. I tried -nicesuck- meaning nice draw but the powers that be thought it was too racy. I'm pretty new to poolcomps but learning fast.
 
ive made 7 8 balls in a row breaking from the side rail using the 2nd ball break, you just have to find that sweet spot.

They are able to alter table physics quite easily apparently. They did say that they were going to change it so that the people with breaks down cold wouldn't have automatic breaks. The table broke as expected in the early rounds of the first match and hung me out to dry in the set rounds.

This was a good thing in a way but when they change the table physics without a chance to shoot on the table it does throw a lot of luck into the mix. Actually cue ball control is everything so luck and a little table weirdness can't become factors.

The break is totally random now so forget about finding a sweet spot. There are some great fun players but when it comes down to the major tournaments i've never seen so much choking ( im one of them). Its all great fun though.
 
the website is greath, the mods are fantastic, but DONT play money games.

someone was asking for moneygames, one of the mods told me he had played him before and he had payed him, so i accepted the chalange.

lost first game for 25$ and i payed him with paypall
won the second game for 37$ and he never payed me back.

exept from those |@#|@#|@#@#{!!!!!!!!!! i love the website.

maybe they should find something so the moneygames can be trustfull.
maybe add option, for both players to send the money to an paypall acount of a trusted mod or poolcomps admin, and the winner gets the payment. that will resolve the problem of people cheating on you.

i could have KILLED this guy. i even gave him ball in hand, after he didnt shoot in time for the shotclock. he had some lame excuse about the doorbell, and sportmanship as i am, i gave him ball in hand instead of clearing. that made me lose the first game, AND i even payed him, then he ripps me off.

really poolcomps, i love the place, but if u want feedback about how to make it better, listen to my idea for money games.
 
Yeah that sucks! Thats why I stopped playing money games. The majority are decent but there are some bad eggs.
You're better off playing in the major tournaments. I lost in the 5th round yesterday but I won $125 for my effort. I should have won 3-2 but i choked on the ball before the black. I think i was blinded by the $2000 first place prize.

I tell myself theres always next week :D
 
I'm macgyver, but I only really play snooker because 9/8 are so easy on that site, it is like whoever breaks wins.

Snooker is a nice longer game with much more oppertunity for position play as well as cluster breakouts.... I am loving the snooker there.
