Okay, I will edit my first poll and add more names on the list. Obviously I have left out some really popular choices.

Here we go again.

Richard

I've seen everyone included in the poll break, and IMO the best break of all belongs to a player named Will Bilbrey from Jacksonville. I'm pretty sure he plays poker for the most part now, but when he was playing, he had the most consistent break I've seen since Billy Johnson (Wade Crane). However, I voted for Johnny Archer because he seems to deliver his best breaks when he needs them the most.

> My vote for consistent, overwhelming power and impressive control even with that power is Jon Kucharo. Is he the best breaker I've ever seen? NO,that honor goes to a player only a few here will know,Pete Horne from somewhere in North Carolina. He slid into town with a lifer-railbird from a neighboring town, and said he was a world class player. I had heard of him,he had just won a tournament at Brass Tap with Strickland and Davenport there. According to the article in The Snap,he put 4-5 racks together late in several matches to win that tournament, against a field of about 15 then-pros. I had never seen a player of that speed come through this area, and was just starting to get out and try and learn,so even though I had no financial association with what he was doing,I went to watch him play. He was in the area for 6 months or so,and I saw him like once a week during this time, and probably watched at least 1500-2000 racks, because he was constantly in action of some kind. In all that time,I saw him scratch on the break no more than 20 racks total, and all of those were due to a unfortunate collision out in the middle of the table,in a straight line from where he started. He squatted the cue ball like a machine would, even with a quite heavy pop. Remember when Sigel broke the balls his best? Add 25% more speed and even better control. His execution was as perfect as I've ever seen. He also never booked a loser in this area that I know of. I asked him one time how he did it,he said "I just do,I can't explain why,I just can't hit'em any other way." I talked with him another time, and he said Earl and him were friends as kids, and started playing together, and at that point said Earl had NEVER beat him in a match that mattered,it was a mental block kind of like Francisco had with Efren for so long. It's been 14 years since I saw him,but I still remember his game clear as day. Tommy D.

Alot of the Taiwanese players posess breaks better than most mentioned on the list. Wu and Yang come to mind.
