Not sure if this counts. When I was a kid we use to have dart fights, some of us wore head gear, some didn't.
I may not hit a triple 20 or bullseye but I can nail a shoulder or a thigh.
We also had rock and fireworks fights. We bowled for pitchers of beer and money pots.

I dated a girl in a high rise building. On my way into the building I felt a sharp pain in my calf.
When I looked down there was a dart sticking out of my leg buried almost to the flight.
I think she threw it at me...lol

So ya,,,,i'm good at everything if you factor in bodily harm.

Decent bowler when I was younger 200 avg or so. Not so much with darts. Play a mean game of Galaga tho!

I used to finish Arkanoid on a single quarter. Had a friend who could also. We considered any game under a million points and beating the final stage a failure.

I haven't played it in a decade, but I'm confident I could hit a million in a few tries.

A million point game probably takes 45min.

Galaga was the only video game I've ever played in my life. A diner next to a hotel I would frequent had it in the lobby. My girlfriend and I would play for hours. She was better than me, probably not at the level you guys played.

I joined my first bowling league about a year ago. Wasn’t very good at first but now that I’ve switched to 2 hands, I’m averaging about 170 or so. Only been like 4 months though so I’ve seen quite a bit of improvement week over week. Set my high series of 580 last week.

Different game. Galaga is very difficulty. I didn't play too many video games. Arkanoid was what he and I played in college. We'd play one two-player game a day. We spent a long time considering 300,000pts a great game. Then one day we both got well over half a million. In less than a week after that we'd both finished the game.

That's how it was for me...need a double 8 to get out...need a double 4 to get out...need a double 2 to get out
Different darts for different levels for sure. Master out, DI/DO, Just DO, AI/AO. US plays a lot of cricket, UK plays a lot of 01
I played tennis (only one loss my Senior year) and bowled (180-190 average at age 16) at a very high level for a teenager before I ever got into playing pool. Never tried darts, just had no interest. I sucked at foosball too. I did win the camp ping pong tourney when I was 13, playing against older opponents. I also played golf for all of two summers and actually broke 40 for nine holes on a relatively easy course (under 3000 yards for nine holes). At age 18, pool grabbed me and never let me go! It was by far the hardest game I ever tried to play.
Darts is pretty fun and tough too.

My brother in law has a pool table. He put a ping pong table on top of it. He also had a Foosball table.
All of his 5 kids played foosball, the family loved it. His 11 year old kicked the hell out of me playing foosball.
I haven’t been to my B in Law’s house for over 10 years. Screw’em.

Mark Tadd was supposedly really good at foosball.

Good thread.

If I recall Steve Cobian here in Indy was pretty good at foosball as well. Also, the last time I bowled without kids and bumpers was with you. Around 2000, we were practicing for league at Airport Billiards and you asked if I bowled. We walked over to Western and bowled a game or two. I think that I still have a clock of your speed. Never saw your dart action.

I remember when Big Arm John put up a basketball goal outside of Sticks and Stones Billiards. I found out a lot pool players can hit a set shot. Lost a few duckies

The USBC just hosted a major bowling championship at the Gold Coast Casino a few weeks ago the BCA/USAPL championships were going on. It was pretty neat to go over and watch the best in the world bowl. You don't realize just how much better the pros are than you until you watch them, just like in every sport.

I bowled ten-pin in the youth leagues from age 5 until I aged out at 18. I was a far better tournament bowler than I ever was tournament pool player.

Bowling, I won a semester's worth of scholarship money, close to $15k if I recall correctly. I was inadvertently sand bagging. During weekly league I carried a 135-140 average, but tournaments were more serious, less social so I performed over my own head and often crushed the handicap division.

Really crappy at darts though, always blamed it on being 5' short. And I play just enough golf to be an asset in a best ball tournament, compete at mini-golf, go to the driving range or caddy; you definitely don't want to play a whole course with me!

I remember about 20 years back tried to promote something called
Pool Poker and Pain
Was a neat idea. Compete in all 3, Pain being boxing.
Dennis Hatch was in it. At 265 with boxing experience, it did not happen.

This is what we played.

I’m a world class Defender player. Took me years to master it. I started on it the day it came out. I was good after a year. After 4 years, I couldn’t find anyone anywhere who could beat me.

We used to play races to a million points. Who gets there first is the better player because it’s alternate turns so you have a higher point average peer life. Playing for a total is impossible because on factory default settings playing forever is easy after you know how to play.

Or we would go into the settings with zero free lifes(default is every 10,000 points) and set it to 5 lifes and who scores the most wins. Shorter races than the million.

I’ve owned a number of Defender machines over the years and Stargate as well(which is a much easier game.

Fun times,

Robotron I was good at but never a top player, I could play forever on it as well but my average per life in the formats outlined above I wasn’t the best.

Tempest I couldn’t ever get there, same for centipede.

I was 13 or 14 when the golden era of arcades happened, I played pool then too. When the arcades dried up. I went to pool full time. I’m a life long degen on this shit. In 77 I was 11 and that’s when it all started with pinball. My parents didn’t even try to tell me what time to come home-I’d never listen. I still don’t listen rip mom & dad.

In Vegas last week I was on good behavior mode and got in at 4am

How I ever achieved any measure of success I’m not sure.

I remember that well.

Hatch was a big favorite in 2 of the 3. Idk how his poker game is. Lol. I haven’t seen him in a long time. Great guy. Good times together. I sure would like to see him again. I saw him last at the pool room in LA maybe 7-8 years ago.

We had some fun times at the Mcup in Vegas and London. Great memories💪💪

Hope your good

I've been bowling since I was 10. But, I had hand surgery and it'll be a year before I'm, hopefully, able to bowl again at the same level Never really played darts though.

HEY, how nice to hear from you.
My bowling is under 100 average.
Sometimes at league my back would hurt so bad I couldn't even release the ball.

Dart wise, I've gotten a lot better. Snagged a 1st at state and a 3rd at state in the past 3 years in cricket.
