Who is David Broxson?

Yes, but unconventional forms and strokes can and will limit a player's potential, not always, there are some exceptions. That's why a good instructor will correct many students form and stroke before they can go on to other things.

A sidearm pitcher can make it in the big leagues, but it is rare to see any, and it is not the recommended way to pitch.

Haven't you ever heard the term, "He could have been a world champion if he only had a good stroke!" .... lol

And Broxson did break down some playing John the last match.

ok you have obviously never seen david play.... he has a tremendous stroke and the balls he hits the best are long tough cuts where he has to move the cue ball.you cant really tell how somebody plays by looking at there setup. what you should be looking at is how they hit the cue ball. its honestly a little irresponsible to criticize somebody on here, considering i'm sure david can give you whatever he wants...lol
instead of puttin down his game i think we should congratulate him for playing the best pool of his life at a key time in pool history,he has qualified for both ipt tourneys.

Yes ...

I did see David play on BCN, and yes, I am sure he has 'compensated' for his form, and pretty well, but that does not alter the fact that form is directly related to performance in sports, any sport. You can make a mistake, and correct it, but it is not the same as doing it right the first time. It was merely an observation, something every good player that plays for money does everytime he goes into a Pool room. It is a habit from sizing up competitors. BTW, I have played 45 years, and for thousands of dollars.

I'm begining to realize that while a good form is nice to have, it's not a requirement... I rarely play but when I do, people comment on my form and my stroke. I have a great form and I can't get out with 3 balls and ball in hand. Mike Davis on the other hand has the worst form of anyone I've ever seen (luv ya Mike ;) ) and he's on his way to the Mosconi Cup... because he earned it.

WELL YOU DID SAY HE DID NOT HAVE A GOOD STROKE....AND THAT SIMPLY IS NOT TRUE. DAVID IS ONE OF THE BEST PLAYERS IN THE COUNTRY,AND HE HAS A TON OF HEART. SO I GUESS I TOOK OFFENSE TO YOU ATTACKING ONE OF MY FRIENDS WHEN HE IS PLAYING GREAT AND BEATING A LOT OF PLAYERS.

I CONCUR WITH YOU, JAMES! :D I've known David since the late 80's, and he plays great! Although his form is unconventional, he still has a great, smooth stroke, and a pure, fluid swing. He keeps his head down and body still, addressing the table like a champion. :)

c'mon, man! WTF does that have to do with anything? DB played better in the 2006 Open than you ever did, period.
