I thought I'd see who is planning on going to the Gateway Amature 9-Ball Tourney October 8th. I plan on attending and would love to meet any Azers that I've not met already and meet up with those that I've met before! Post here if you're going.

GENERAL WARNING TO AZ'ers (from the AZ Cue Advisory Board)

This is a notice to all forum members that a poster identifying himself as "zeeder" has been attending pool competitions. He will introduce himself, and convince you that he is a super-nice guy, a definite pool fanatic and knowledgeable about the game. He will then TRY TO BORROW YOUR CUE!!!! Under no circumstances should you lend him your cue (yes, he will take care of it and give it back, but hey, he's got a problem and we've got to show tough love). That is all.


P.S. - JUST KIDDING! I wish I could go, but I'm still in the Woodshed. Have a good time

I am not going, wish we were but ther is a big APA playoff here tomorrow,

I wish Zim and the rest a HUGE turnout, have fun and play nice.

Looking forward to hearing all about it.
 
There are a couple of us hoping to make it up there if nothing comes up between now and then.
 
Hopefully theres a really good turn out! I don't have much tournament experience so I can't wait to see where my game is really at!

Man Willie, how am I going to play if no one lets me borrow a cue? I'll have my cues but I'm still going to try to borrow someone's Predator BK so I don't have to chance getting my cues dinged up...lol.
 
Shouldn't I be a B Player?

I am awaiting an answer from a PM I sent Zim about my status. After All, I AM AN "OLDHASBEEN" AND 60 YEARS OLD NOW.

If you're a B player then perhaps I'm a G player or something...lol. I'd be happy to play in a tournament with you Tom! Even if you can't play you ought to come by and say hello.

If I am dying and can't even stand up - I'll NEVER accept being a "B" player just to get a handicap in a tournament. I've seen some "So-Called" ex -champs do exactly that and it made me sick. I'd much rather lose as a Champ than to win as less.

Well, I just got back from the Tourney. I didn't do as well as I'd hoped. I won my first two matches and then lost my next two. :( In the match I lost in the winner's bracket I blew a couple of good opportunities and in the loser's bracket loss my opponent didn't miss a ball...lol. Oh well, perhaps I'll do better next month.
