I took my unconverted Willie Hoppe Professional out for a spin tonight and was surprisingly happy with the oversize butt. I felt like it was easier to keep from twisting my wrist during the stroke. I don't know if that's due to the size, or the weight, or if it's just a psychological effect from playing with a different type of cue for one night.
So, does anyone out there play with an old-style fat butt routinely? Why do we use thinner butts nowadays anyway? ARE BIG BUTTS BETTER?
