who made this cue?

I am pretty sure that stacked veneer pattern was somone's signature, I just cannot remember who it was. But, it looks like the cue was definitely altered. The joint pin is really long, and not nearly centered. I know I just saw a tribute cue on here with that stacked veneer pattern. I will look again. Sorry this is not more help.

Working on it.

I didn't like my first impression, and neither would you...so I am holding my opinion pending further research....... meaning I'm thinkin real hard man....:)

OK, here goes. I am standing at low end Asian import, and it looks like a screw on tip.

The veneer stack matches several that I have seen as well, including being extremely similar to the point veneer stack on one such low end cue that I have.

Sorry, but that's where I'm at with it.

I believe you have a Burton Spain cue with some missing joint rings.

Eddie laube Jr. also did this style. He would often cut a small pilot on the butt side of the joint and a recess in the shaft side.

The age looks correct for either one, the rings looks very Burton Spain.

I don't think that is a screw on tip.

Wow!

Really?

It looks like a screw on tip, does it not?

But, of course he did like to put the pin in the shaft......

You know more than I do. What makes you say Spain?

Ive seen tips like that when they are a million years old dry rotted and mushroomed to hell.

You might have something there. Stacked ring work and pin screamed Spain to me also

Shaft and butt joint may just need a facing. Wood expands ESP if in a moist environment. ESP endgrain which isnt usually sealed.
