Who makes Showcase Cues?

Does anyone know anything about the guy that makes "Showcase" Cues. The company is in colorado and they are some of the most original cues I have seen. The woods they use are outstanding. They are priced in the hi-end range (up to $4000) and I was thinking of having one made (on the lower end of the product line), but I know zip about the maker. Any help would be appreciated. The thing I like most about the cues is the combination of exotic woods and stone inlays.

Unfortunately their site does not have a history of the Cue Maker.

If I'm not mistaken, that would be Clay Etheredge and I believe his son along with a few accomplished craftsmen who've been working with Clay a while. Nice people! I had a booth next to them, a couple of times, at a Valley Forge & the BCA Show. They had some very nice cues!

That is the only guy i know that makes a nice lookin cue .And that is it ..I hate the way they play..And sound..funny when u hit a ball ..
My 2 cents...

Clay's son mike does most of the computer programing work. There is a guy whos name escapes me at the moment I believe he is phillipino who builds there also.
Ernie martinez got his start at showcase several years ago. I agree with you on the looks of their cues. I have played with several and they all hit good. Hit is so subjective though. They push their truehit shafts alot, Most of the people I know who ordered one were not very impressed with them. As I understand it all they are doing is glueing in a steped phenolic plug in the butt of the shaft and cutting the threads into the phenolic.
I was in their store about 4 months ago to pick up a tip for a customer and a salesman started telling me all the benifits of their shaft. When I informed him I was a cuemaker from colorado cues he did a little back pedaling on the claims he was making and said something to the effect of you got to have a gimmic.
I like showcase and in no way mean to put them down, I just wouldent pay extra for the true hit shafts. Just my 2 cents.

The only 2 showcases I have hit with are their sneaky petes. I thought both of them were good, and a good value. If I were to get a showcase, it would be a sneaky. I have never hit with anything else made by them so I can't really comment on the fancy nes.

I own a Showcase cue that was made by and confirmed by Ernie Martinez while I lived in Denver. It was made several years ago when he started making cues. The pin itself has METRIC THREADS, the face of which has been stamped with a diamond and includes an "S" also stamped in the center of it.

Awhile back I tried selling it at this website but there were no takers.

I have owned a couple of Ernie's cues he made while at Showcase. What were you asking for that cue? Please post pictures if you have them or email them to me: ebilliards@comcast.net.

Thanks, Dave

Thats what scares me most about buying one... I don't think id ever be able to get half my money out of it if I sold it... The one I was looking at was around $850, but if I buy it I guess I have to be sure I want to keep it. I'll probably go for a more notable cuemaker to have my cue made...
