Was wondering if anyone had a list of what ferrules different manufactures put on their shafts whether it be a screw on or slip on and whether it is a capped ferrule or not. Also what shafts are solid and which companys are not. I know there are a lot of different shafts that are not solid wood. Any input would definitely help
thanks ron

It will be a big job, but I might be willing to compile the answers and post it up in another thread.
So let's get the cue repairman to list a few they have experience on and list how they are done.

I will list a few.

Hightower cues have 5/16-18 threaded ferrules mostly linen based melamine.
Joss cues 1980's and 1990's 5/16-18 threaded melamine.
Mali cues 1980's through 1990's had 5/16-14 threaded. Priority plastic.
Meucci cues 1970's through 1990's had slip on ferrule. Priority plastic.
McDermott 1970s through 1990's had 3/8-10 threaded ferrules. Cotton fiber or Ivorine.
Tim Scruggs 5/16-18 threaded ferrules mostly linen based melamine.
Viking pre 1990s have a metal screw that the ferrules threaded onto. Priority plastic.

I will start another thread for this.
