i was wondering who runs budget billiards (www.budgetcues.com)? if you subscribe to their news letter than you are entered to win a meucci demo cue. well i subscribed quite a long time ago and got to thinking that they never say anything about these cues. no winner acnoledgment...no drawing dates or whatever. absolutely nothing that i know of. did i miss something or is this somehting just to spam out a newsletter?
thanks,
Jay

hey, jay....these people are strange to deal with,,,my buddy and I stopped at the town (supposed to be their location) and called them for directions,,, without even asking who we were or what we wanted, the guy on the phone told us they only sell to retail customers and promptly hung up on us,,,

needless to say, I have never tried to even call them again; nor will I ever try!

(36) Meucci cues, used to be a great company and cue. Company went bankrupt, filed, sold off assets, went from 125 people to 9. The quality of the cue tanked and the black dot shafts are a massive failure and have a warping problem due to the inferior design of the layers.
They are now selling direct to the public going around their dealers of which they have very few of these left. Budget Cues is Meucci, ran by Bob's son in law and his daughter, operated in the Meucci office.

The service is what tanked the worse. Stories abound about sending in cues for repairs and they lose them and it takes 6 months to get something returned and it warps when it comes in.

The cues are over priced for the quality they now offer. There are many cues now on the market that play just as good for half the money they are charging. If you can find an older one with a red dot shaft that cue will be fine if the shaft is straight. Again your problem is what do you do if you ever need repairs. Their service is virtually non existent. You would have to just buy a new shaft or find somebody locally to make your repairs. Do not send in any thing to them for repair, you probably will never see it again.

This is a do not buy warning.

i said this last year after valley forge in 2005.. i knew they were going to go bankrupt.. i sent them a cue for warranty work and it took them 4 months to get it back.. ONLY because i cornered Bob Meucci at Valley forge that year and he made some phone calls.. and then this past valley forge when he wasnt there and their booth was moved to the lower level and the guy there had about 500 factory 2nds.. i knew it was about the end for them.. its a shame too.. Bob ran it right into the ground.. there are many threads hear on azbilliards that talk about how bad their service is and stuff.. one guy even got stiffed for over 2 grand.. its a shame..
