Hello everyone let's make a little play of predictions here.
Who do you think will go to the next round of 8 or the Quarter Final?
Here's my pick and hopefully you would pick your own.
Chien-Che Huang (TPE) v Alex Pagulayan (CAN)
I'll go for Alex, it seems he's peeking at the right time.
Marlon Manalo (PHI) v Efren Reyes (PHI)
I think I go for Efren when the going gets tough experience
and gutsy plays will prove a useful friend.
Po-Cheng Kuo (TPE) v Earl Strickland (USA)
This one is for the ages. I heard that this Kuo is very good
except that he does not play so much tournament not until
recently and he's showing his worth. I think ill go for an upset
here...I'll go for Kuo. Im not taking away Strickland though
bcoz he's playing well in this tournament. But i have a feel
that this guy will prove
Fong-Pang Chao (TPE) v Imran Majid (ENG)
Skills wise and experience in the WPC that would prove
handy for Chao but Majid is peeking at the right time just
like Alex given that 9 balls is anybody's game when the
player is in the zone. Its a hard line to call. But i will
go for Chao for a slight edge. (But i will not be surprise for
an upset win by Majid!)
Marcus Chamat (SWE) v Thorsten Schober (GER)
Chamat is playing very consistently now in many tournaments
but Schober is playing very well as far as this tournament is
concern. Again it would be a tough one to call. But ill go for
Chamat here.
Dennis Orcollo (PHI) v Pei-Wei Chang (TPE)
Dennis has come of age but Pei-Wei Chang is a tough nut to
crack. Many favored Chang here but ill go for Dennis here, he's
proven so far in this tournament that being down doesn't mean
out. So he will give Chang a boot here.
Johnny Archer (USA) v Niclas Bergendorff (SWE)
Bergendorff just defeated the very good Mika Immonen and former
champion at that. He also defeated brutally Fabio Petroni. But
Archer plays so far a solid game plus his hunger to win his first
WPC championship would be a great motivator.
So i'll go for Archer here.
Rodolfo Luat (PHI) v Ching-Ching Kang (TPE)
Wow Luat is peeking at the right time defeating a very good
Hu Kui Hsia at brutal 9-2 but Kang has demolished
the defending Champion Hohmann at 9-1. So this one is
a hard line to call. I'll favor Kang this time (but as Filipino as I am
i would always welcome Luat to win !!)
So guys cast your bold predictions!
