Why Didn't Putnam Follow Darren's Break Spot???

Hats off to Darren winning B2B opens and playing nearly flawless pool.... If I had to guess, I'd say he shot in the .950 range.... Pretty much held his man down throughout.... His break was working perfectly yet I don't think Putnam ever followed him over to his spot.... Putnam's break was killing him and he never seemed to make the right adjustment....

I always see these top players follow each other when success is found in the break.... Alot of them also watch previous matches on the table to help find the sweet spot/sweet speed.....

Congrats to Darren Appleton and amazing run by Putnam to get there.... It's been awhile now since we kept the open here at home.... Was Schmidt the last American winner???

By day three of the open all of the tables had two identical spots in the break box area. One right side, one left side. Players put whitey on one or the other. Didn't seem to make much difference. What did make a difference was their stroke and where on the head ball of the rack they hit.

Yeah Putnam was hitting way softer than Appleton. Darren had a way better break, making the one in the side.
