Why does PooL die in the Summer??

For me

Heres why pool slows down for me....The room I play at is to cheap to turn on the AC...lol...Its like a sweat shop in there..When I start sweatin, I know summer here and I need to adjust me playing time to late evenings....JMO

Sometimes, there's no way to avoid the humidity. In the summer at Chris's in Chicago, on hot Sunday nights during the 9 ball tournament, with 30 or more players in the back room, the AC can't really keep up. The humidity is thick. The sweat runneth freely. The chalk gets sticky. Sticks crab on moist skin.

The solution? A glove...

The solution? How about an A/C that can handle the environment?

My electric goes up over $3000 a month in the summer. Even then my 3 commercial units cannot always keep up with demand. I would tell the owner to crank it up and you would GLADLY pay another $1.00 an hour for pool. He would almost break even that way. Give it a shot!
its coin operated tables but maybe if he would turn the air on he would get more business I mean everyone complaines about it, he just says oh it feels fine to me "as people are walking out the door"

Pool in summer

Length of leagues was a good reason. Most leagues run abut 14 weeks here, except some inhouse leagues run for 22 weeks (which I think is too
long).

A long time ago, we used to have a lot of summer playing, but it wasn't league or tournaments, it was MONEY ACTION. It never got started until
10-11 pm and ran the rest of the night, back when we had afterhours places to play. Many spectators would come in just to watch the good money games, with lots of side betting going on.

So, I would say good money action will draw people.
Good players playing will draw people.
Good ring games will interest people.

Having afterhours places will draw people. Lots of times in summer, people will go to 1 activity, but want a late night thing to do, especially action
junkies and fans. From what I have seen, places today, like Mikey's in Oklahoma City, that are 24/7 does not have the summer drop off like
other rooms do.

Pool does not die in the Summer, but our Town Empties out as the Snow Bird Go Home.

I spend more time in the Pool Room as it saves on my AC BILL....

Why does pool die in the summer? In my area, one word. GOLF.

I second that notion!!! Was beautiful all week at work, planned on golfing today...and its RAINING. Sometimes I'd like to $%^#@ slap mother nature.
