Why don't we hear about any of these top notch Chinese players?
Why don't we here abou these guys matching up? Do they not gamble much, or do not match up much outside of China? I'm really curious.
I had a good conversation with a couple of buddies this weekend. One of the things we talked about was the Chinese players, and how they stack up. One of us thought that Ko Pin Yi would beat SVB. I thought maybe, but I think it depends on the format. I think SVB can beat ANYONE IN THE WORLD, in a race to 100, 10 ball, TAR match. I also think race to 100, 10 ball over 3 day period is going to be an up hill battle. Outside of that, I don't know KPY well enough to judge.
All that being said, we through out the other name guys we had heard of, and for the life of us didn't know. So naturally later I checked them out on you tube a bit. They seem to have the stuff. KPY seems to break strong enough to compete for sure, but can they win in a longer set format?
More importantly is any one trying to put something together?
Also one of the people involved mentioned that he thought Shane ducked KPY in Vegas. I said I doubt it. I've never seen Shane turn down a game, and I doubt he's afraid to play anyone. Pretty sure this is not true, but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
Any way, just curious. Sorry if it's been discussed already.
All the best,
Justin
