I was practicing the other day when a group of kids came in for a birthday party.
They were at the tables behind me so I'd watch for a bit. I thought it was great to have a birthday party there and looked at the kids as future players, anyway.
One kid was a little better then the rest. He went to show one kid how to make a ball. The kid goes at puts his finger on the table where the GB contact patch would be to make the ball go in the pocket. The kids exact words were" just roll the CB to this spot". The kid did that and the ball went in.
So simple even kids can use it and understand it. That's when I realized most are just making pool harder, more complex than needs to be. Try explaining CTE to a kid. You would lose them in 5 minutes.
I've seen this done a lot when some is showing another how to make balls. They either use contact point ie hit the OB here or contact patch ie roll the CB over this spot. Remember Babe Cranfield used the spot on the table concept.
I prefer GB contact patch since I'm looking at where the ball needs to go v a offset that occurs when using contact point.
The simpler the better when it comes to pool.
