One of the things I love about going into a Pool Room is being a part of an interesting diverse group of characters.I know to others I was a character to them.When the room closed that I frequented almost on a daily basis there was a void.I have a table in my home so I could always invite someone over to play but there was something missing.When I started coming on to the main forum is when I realized it was the daily banter , some funny some serious , some logical and some illogical , that is what was missing.That is why I love scanning through the post here in the Main forum. This is my Pool Room fix.

This post is probably the closest to how I feel.
The first big pool hall I hung around in a big city had a lot of regulars....
...even when they didn't feel like playing, they would drop in and talk
about everything under the sun.

I even bought my first car in this room, cash, from a real estate salesman
after I took a decent win.
Besides the billiards, I played chess, gin, and backgammon for hours.
We also argued about thermodynamics, quantum theory, and the
existence of a Supreme Being.
As some of the regulars made their money and moved to the suburbs,
they still drove downtown to hang out.

So AZ feels like a favorite pool hall to me.

But trying to explain why you do anything may be impossible at a deep
level.....life is unfathomable.
