Why Snooker Is Harder Than Pool - Demonstrated By Allison Fisher

Did she foul? Looked pretty difficult, fun to watch though.

It was very strange action on the hit. She may have bounced the tip off the top of the ball a couple of times. Maybe she didn't or maybe the referee was looking elsewhere or maybe it was not a really serious match.

Snooker is harder than the pool because Snooker is played on a Larger table than pool. The size of pockets are relatively smaller in snooker and rules are less strict in pool than snooker.

A larger table (and smaller balls) can also be advantageous and I don't think that the Snooker rules are stricter than pool rules; they are different but not stricter.

Of course snooker is harder. Where can you play snooker in the US. Sure maybe here and there, but really, not that often will you find a table to work on. Plus what has been said already...

Snooker tables are so expensive to buy. Most room owners can't afford to purchase one. Does anyone even make them in the US?

I believe the Youtube explanation says it was an exhibition match.

Inbetween the serious stuff the World Champion would play an exhibition frame with a 'celebrity' (ie. people like Bobby Davro) and in this case, Allison Fisher.

There are still some pockets of the country (mostly IN the country) where snooker can be found and some skilled participants partake.

Obviously not the norm. But I sincerely love that game.

:grin-square:

It appeared that she momentarly trapped the cue ball with the cue. The sound also seemed to tell me the same thing

Used ones go cheap around here. Last local pool hall that closed ended up selling beautiful Gold Crown snooker tables for $75 each (they had 4).

I seriously doubt they was real snooker tables. I bet they was 10' tables

It's irrelevant whether snooker is harder than pool.

Some players are harder to beat than others at any game.
But the best player wins, whether it's 1-hole, 3-cushion, or snooker.

Whatever is difficult or easy at any game is the same for your opponent.

lol .... Pool halls around here had nothing but 12' snooker tables until about 20 - 25 years ago ... they should have been called "snooker halls". Nobody has 10' snooker tables here, they would be considered toys.

Note that I live in Canada.

Oh sorry I thought you was in the states

All this talk about snooker being harder than pool is ridiculous.

Hmmm...let's see

Larger surface area to work with, so less clusters.
No need to call shots.
You don't have to hit a rail, so you can just tap a ball. Nice to see this championship game hasn't evolved past hole in the wall bar room 8 ball.

Obviously a poor joke. I love snooker. :)
