Why was the poll thread can you build a cue in 4 months pulled

Wow. That thread had some good conversation and points of view in it. For what I last read anyway (I didn't read anything in it past yesterday afternoon though). Shame.

I am a newbie, but damn who gets offended by if you can or can't build a cue in 4 months? I thought there was some good info and discussion going on.

Oh well!

seemed someone got their panties in a bunch about the question and its motives. I was really enjoying reading the thread, and learning more about the time it takes to build me a cue.

I agree, there was some interesting info but as usual their is more than one answer, and the question should have been asked based on wood already seasoned and somewhat ready.
The only true answer in my opinion is,
Who's doing the building?
What are their individual theories?
Do they core?........WHY?
If they don't core,......WHY?
Do they keep a running inventory on shaft wood?
How long do they feel it takes to season properly?

I could think of a lot more questions but the point is, people can be misled in reading these forums thinking this is the average, when in fact, it may not be the average, just the opinion of a few.

Example,
A customer called and said, so and so said,(New maker) he can build a cue in 8 weeks, If they can't, they must not have confidence in what they do.
I said, that's nice.
They replied, Can you?
I said, no Sir, Sorry
Well, WHY NOT? (voice changed in tone)
I said, well Sir, because Quality is no accident! and left it at that.
You know the next day, that Cue maker called me and just went off, I was laughing which made him pissed, I listened and laughed because lets face it, I understand stupid sometimes.

I explained,
What and why he does something is only what he believes and has absolutely nothing to do with anyone else's cues and techniques. And it is wrong to think everyone thinks and feels the way he does.

Moral of my little story is,
Assumption does not exist when dealing with more than one Cue maker.
Accept, don't condemn.

I agree....the original question was too open ended. It was leading to a number of different answers in which most all could have been correct.
