Why you shouldn't move your own table

What about briefly lifting a table to re-level? Any risk in slightly lifting one leg by the frame for a few secs to slide something under there? Might've used a jack, but thought it would be easier to crawl under there and put me shoulder into it. Already did this, of course, but it looks like I might need to do it again. I've got a GCI and it seems my creaky floor settled a tad.

Actually lifting to relevel isn't that bad. You just have to know the table. If it has partical board for blinds then you have to either take those off or do it by the frame.

Most tables if built properly are ok to do that. But I assume you don't have a machinist level nor the knowledge of how far to spin the leg levelers. So you'll be picking it up and down a bunch.

The one major difference of an individual doing it and a profesional doing it is if you mess up. Your fitting the bill. If a Profesional messes up. It's their problem.

Most of the times I deal with Gold Crowns (Mainly 3s and 4s) we are refelting it or moving it. So we don't have the blinds on when we pre-level the frame. And if the floor settles it usually settles after all 3 peices of slate are on the frame. So even with that happening we can lift on the slate which is much better than lifting on a blind. What I'm trying to say is I never have leveled a Gold Crown with the cap on so your own your own on that.

Rofl... you got to admit though, it was pretty ghetto. LOL
