Wiki on Cue Makers

I'm looking to put together a Wiki on Cue Makers where each maker would have a page with information pertinent to them (like wikipedia). It looks like Google will host it for free so here's a link to a very rough outline I've thrown together. https://sites.google.com/site/cuemakerswiki/downey-custom-cues

I'm looking at having a listing of makers down the left hand side. Once there are more makers added, the navigation will have to change to alphabetical groupings which can be opened & closed.

Information will be on the right with something like the format that there is for Downey, but I'm working on how to lay it out and what to include.

Once I get a template finalized, the information will be updatable by anyone so long as people don't cause problems.

I'd like feedback and suggestions if you've got them.

Let me know if you think this will be useful. If others don't contribute, with information, it probably won't work, since I don't have tons of time to throw at this.

thanks,
Scott

In some of the threads and I think some of the stickies, there are already updated lists of cue makers both here and not on AZ.

I hope you succeed, this is a cool thing definitely.

Its been a while since I've looked at the listing of cuemakers out there but when I did look they were always incomplete and/or outdated. I think the wiki format would allow the information to be as complete and up to date as possible, assuming people were interested. I guess we'll see if I'm right.

I agree. I think the problem is this. One person starts something with good intentions, but fails to follow through. If this is something you are good at and you seem to be passionate about it, I think people will notice and eventually you will have a 1/1 list .... ;) especially having cue making experience... will provide deeper insight to what kind of info people are looking for....

I understand what you mean. My primary goal is to remove the burden from one person. On that note, it seems having Google host it won't work because I'd have to specifically grant access to each person to allow them to update content. I want it to be open to anyone to update, except maybe people who cause problems and deserved blocked.

I'll have to find some time to go looking for a wiki that is open to everyone to edit. I'm not going to add much info in its current location so I don't have to move alot, but I'm still looking for feedback on the template format and content, in terms of wording, things lacking or anything that should be removed.

Thanks,
Scott
