Will playing Snooker make me a better pool player?

Playing on a 10'er would be better IMHO. Also play some 3 cushion with somebody that really knows how to play

Agree, with these observations. Both snooker and pool players have tried to play both games. But none have been especially good at playing both games at the top level. Alex's attempt to earn his snooker ticket comes to mind.

Well, to be fair to the snooker professionals, they don't have a lot of incentive to leave the high-paying world of snooker (a single top finish buys you a new Tesla) to try out pool when the prize money would barely cover their airfare, but could probably do so with the right amount of effort. If you watch Chinese 8-ball, snooker players do very well there.

Alex is a plenty good snooker *shooter*, it's just a very hard game to know when to roll the dice and make your move, playing those long, long matches against players with more experience.

Both are fun, and no Ronnie wouldn't win the US-open 9 ball without a lot of preparation, but I've never seen even a novice snooker player who couldn't walk into a pool room and make a meal out of people in 8-ball or 1-pocket.

Ladies and gentlemen, please fasten your seatbelts.

I recently played a little snooker for the first time, and I loved it.

However, snooker in my area isn't cheap to play, whereas pool is quite cheap for me. So regardless, I probably won't end up playing lots of snooker.

I did notice however, that when I went back from the snooker table to the 9' to play 9b, it felt like a bar box. I couldn't miss.

Was this just a novelty effect? Or will playing occasional snooker make me a better pool player on 9' tables?

How could it not?
Yeah I agree with the other guys if you play it to the exclusion of all others then it may give you problems, but as per the Efren quote, it's bound to come in useful at some point, if you watch world class downhill mountain bikers they don't just ride mtb, they ride BMX they ride trials, dirt jump etc, the TT racers ride dirt bikes, trials bikes, etc etc, I think the basic theory is to never arrive at a situation where you don't instinctively know the answer..
Rounding out the experience (in moderation) can only help.
PS if you get bored of snooker, try 3 ball billiards on a snooker table, the old man used to reckon snooker was like shelling peas compared to billiards, but don't do both in one session (at least for me I couldn't do both ).

Regards,
