SteveE [MI_Billiards] Thank for the post #19 and #20.

I didn't figure cost of either a Rental Van - UHaul per week, or The cost for shipping equipment by Ups, FedEX, other mean.

Sponsor or Sponsorship program is another discussion. That would invovlve USBA, Paul Frankel [Professorqball Promotions], and the Live Streamer Provider.

That could detail from $100.00 to $1,000.00 or even $10,000.00 to $100,000.00 for Sponsors.

What about PPV???

PPV

Personally I don't like the idea of PPV for live streaming of 3C.

Live streaming IMHO should not only be for the enjoyment of existing fans of 3 Cushion but equally if not more important is the opportunity for those not familiar with this beautiful sport to be exposed and hopefully develop an interest and become players.

On any ustream channel, below the chat window there are "Recommended Live Shows " with a thumbnail of the video that is being shown on that live show. Many people who may be watching a live show of a sleeping puppy, humming birds feeding or whatever, may look at the "Recommended Live Shows ", see a billiard table and out of curiosity click on it and we have a potential new fan of 3C. There is also the chance that the 3C stream be featured on the front page of ustream and gain many new viewers.

PPV will limit that exposure, along with the fact that a PPV show will get only about 10% of the viewers of a free stream, 10% is being generous.

Take for example the live stream of the Champion of Champions, there were 80-100 viewers most of the time we were on the air with a maximum of about 130 at one time. However, on average for the 4 days there were nearly 1000 "Unique Viewers" for each day. This is telling me that there are many people who just happen to stumble upon the show, I have no idea how long they stay and watch, but all of them have been exposed to 3C that may not have been otherwise.

For me trading a few dollars for the lack of exposure isn't worth it.

I have seen several AZBers that have said that they now have an interest in 3C, I have no way of knowing if that is the result of the live streams, but thinking that what Mi_Billiards has done, has had a positive result in bring new players to 3C is what keeps me going.

Tap,Tap, Tap! Well stated SteveE. I saw MI_Billard had 210 subscribers for the Champion of Champion Event at Valley Forge,PA.

Maybe one year- USBA BOD will tell AZers' how their membership spike in new members after the Valley Forge Event. But I won't lose no sleep over it!!

I will be arriving at the Riviera for the BCA Nationals on May 12 and will definitely come to watch on the 12th & 13th.

What "room" will 3C be held in?

Go Pedro :)

P.S. - any updates on the streaming situation?

Any status report on Live streaming???????

No Go?

Possible??

Still working on it???

0%, 30%, 80% done deal?????

Bob,

We are waiting on the Tropicana Hotel to find out if it is available or not. Obviously, we need a strong Internet connection in order to live-stream, so it needs to be available in order for us to do it. Paul Frankel is still awaiting a status update from them. Unfortunately, everyone waits until the last minute all the time.

P.S. I noticed that there are at least 9 people who said they are willing to donate to live-stream "fund", but we have received ZERO live-stream donations so far.

Jim S!!! I counted possible 19 + -- but some might of donated to ProfessorQBall [Paul Frankel] instead of USBA

Hi to all . Won't a phone call from the tournament Director or responsible party for dealing with the Nationals do the trick ? yes or no ? The hotel must have an answer for this ? I'll be donating as well !
Ciao
Tim

MI_Billiard figures look like in the ballpark of $1000, give or take, if I figured the costs up near right. Is that a reasonable guess? I'm just waiting to hear if live streaming is on and will contribute via the USBA site.
