Dear All,

Have a question i need confirmation.
I have a Willie Hoppe Pro that i cant really tell the wood.. it seems like Ebony from far, but it has grain... and is a very chocolately brown, not black.. Was told it seems like Macassar Ebony.. Does Willie Hoppe cues come with Macassar Ebony?

Sounds more like purple heart to me. I've had a few Hoppe purple heart that looked like that from age.

If it's not purpleheart, it could be wenge. It's chocolately brown, like you said, and it's pores are visible. I've seen it used in older brunswick cues.

i been scouring the whole USA looking for a Purple Heart Titlist, and it would be ironic and a pleasant surprise if this cue is actually beneath all that chocolate purple at heart haha. Anyway i decided to send this cue for a conversion, and the truth would be know by then..

But in truth, does Willie Hoppe comes in Macassar Ebony?

So far its a grand project of mine to collect each different Willie Hoppe , and i relish gettin every different hardwood types. I know the following wood existed, would be most pleased if you guys can chime to the type of wood that Willie's comes in..

1. Gaboon Ebony
2. Oak
3. Mohogany
4. Bacote
5. Coco Bolo
6. Purple Heart
7. Brazillian Rosewood (?)
8. A lighter type of Rosewood
