i am considering buying my own tipping machine and don't want to spend an arm and a leg. i am thinking about getting either a williards tipping machine, or a travel tipper. i only need to do tips, not ferrule, tenon, or joint work, if i did i would get a hightower lathe. those run almost twice as much as a travel tipper. i would like suggestions from those of you that own or have used both, like is the williards good for laminated tips? i know blades can delaminate them. does it perfectly face the ferrule and trim flush without gouging? that sort of stuff.

I have 2 Willards & have been using them for 12 years. They are the best for laminated tips, because they cut clean & don't create any heat, which can delaminate layered tips. They are pricey, but they are the best, in my opinion...JER
