Does he happen to have letter of authenticity? (of any kind)
Were they his practice balls? (or just a set he signed on the cue ball)
Not doubting him, just curious.
Otherwise it just looks like a set with an autographed cue ball.

They were a set he played with, touring around doing pool promotions with the father of the current owner of the set.
No need for elaborate provenance, not trying to sell them or ask value. Just thought it was way cool, and thought some would enjoy seeing them.
