Hey everyone,
I'm raffling off one of my cues to help my girlfriend (yes, not even me) raise money to participate with ISV (International Student Volunteers) to do some conservation work on the habitat and wild animals. Everyone needs a helping hand every now and then, so I'm asking for your generosity to help me help her make this happen. I mean hey, in the end, you can win a really nice cue. The wrap is gorgeous.
Here's an excerpt from her donation page, so you can have a better idea of exactly what she's volunteering for.
The cue: If I'm not mistaken, it's a Nick Varner NV23-16P (Black & Zebra Wood). It's valued at $400 Brand New, and I've barely used it, so I'm going to say it's pretty damn new. I'll reclean the shaft and the tip before I ship it out to whoever wins the raffle. I can personally guarantee there are ZERO dings or nic's in the cue. She's a beauty.

How The Raffle Works:
Basically, this is how the drawing works. There are (100) spots. You choose numbers between 1-100. I will put your name beside these numbers (1 number per person). When all 100 numbers are chosen, I will make a sheet in Excel and use the random number generator to choose a number between 1-100. I will announce the drawing a few days before it takes place and do it live via Skype. That way you can see the drawing.
I will accept all payments at my personal PayPal (I will cover all the fees). I also agree to disclose my information to anyone that wants it. I am not here to scam or make money off of anyone; I'm only here to help my girlfriend out. Everyone in the world has needed a helping hand at some point in their lives, and she's doing it for a good cause - help her out!
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to e-mail me. I know several members can vouch for my authenticity.
My PayPal information is: csykes24@vt.edu (I'm a student at VT).

Megan Brooke said:Megan Robinson will participate in a unique travel program in South Africa, this summer as volunteers, restoring the deteriorating natural habitat and declining animal population, following years of poor land practice and environmental devastation. Under the leadership of an organization called International Student Volunteers (ISV) [www.isvolunteers.org],
They will join 20 to 50 other individuals from around the globe in a four-week program, which will be divided into two equal parts — one part volunteer project, the other part adventure travel. During the first two weeks in South Africa, volunteers will dedicate their time to much-needed restorations of wildlife enclosures and infrastructure, helping with the daily care of cheetahs, wild dogs, brown hyenas and vultures. Volunteers play a vital role in the research and maintenance of some of Southern Africa’s most well-known game reserves and wildlife refuges, monitoring animal populations and maintaining the flora and fauna within the expansive terrain. To generate the greatest impact, each project is run in conjunction with local education and community leaders.
Some volunteers also spend time promoting environmental awareness to local children, passing the knowledge of sustainable conservation practices to future generations. Following the volunteer portion of the trip, participants will embark on an educational adventure tour, traveling extensively throughout South Africa, Swaziland and Mozambique while immersed in the local cultures. Robinson and Work will explore some of South Africa’s most exciting locations, experiencing such activities as caving in Swaziland, snorkeling with whale sharks and manta rays in Mozambique, visiting the Cradle of Mankind and learning local tribal dances. Participants complete their educational tour of South Africa on an overnight wildlife safari at the edge of a game reserve filled with lions, giraffes, rhinos, hippos and other African wildlife.
Through the ISV program, they will gain a deeper appreciation and greater sense of stewardship for the natural wonders of South Africa. One sentiment that seems to hold true for many ISV participants upon returning home is their sense of fulfillment, knowing that they’ve contributed something of value to and made a difference in the environment. South Africa has one of the highest levels of biodiversity in the world, but many of its unique animals are on the verge of extinction due to hunting, culling, urban expansion and poor land practice. South Africa has a turbulent history, resulting in a great divide between rich and poor. Many South Africans live in poverty and struggle to meet every-day needs. As poverty continues to rise in South Africa, the animal population has faced increasing pressure from hunting, urban expansion and pollution. Many of South Africa’s unique species need careful management and monitoring in order to survive and re-populate in the future. Carefully structured volunteer programs provide a means to make a real difference in conservation areas. One of ISV’s goals is to create an opportunity for students to experience a once-in-a-lifetime adventure where they can meet new people, discover new places and travel with a purpose that benefits both the student and the host country.
Since 2002, ISV has offered life-changing volunteer projects, providing more than two million volunteer hours to disadvantaged communities around the world. Every year more than 4,000 students travel with ISV across six continents. ISV is based in the USA and has seven other offices internationally. Volunteer projects are operated in partnership with well-established, localized conservation organizations, including government and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), private reserves and farms, and local grassroots community groups. ISV volunteers have the opportunity to become a part of local communities that partner with ISV to develop hands-on volunteer projects and many have enjoyed lasting friendships as a result. For more information about International Student Volunteers, visit the ISV website at www.isvolunteers.org.
