Win one for the "Gipper" ?

Greetings everyone,

I enjoy watching Jeopardy and on tonights show one clue referenced George Gipp. "Pool Player" I did a quick google search and came up with an interesting article about the "Gipper" I thought it was worth the read and there is a paragragh referencing the Gipper as being quite the hustler.

If anyone has stories, lets hear them. I follow most AZB threads and haven't seen anything about the Gipper before.

I figure most people interested in the Gipper would really just be interested in football. I read a book about the guy a few years ago and there was very little about pool, less than in the article you linked to, I think.

I doubt there's enough concrete information about his time in pool to come up with much.

I was once a Duncan yo yo champion. Glad I stuck with pool. Not a lot of yo yo action.
