Are there any decent pool games available for download for a win 98 based operating system? If there are several ......which would you recommend as the most realistic insofar as play and reaction?

Dan, to be honest, I'd recommend upgrading out of Windows 98. It's 2010 for crying out loud!
Virtual pool 3 is the most realistic regarding physics. Rule wise it is a little outdated (10 ball is played like 9 ball for example).

well the laptop is going to be used as a goof off machine....I use the new MAC for my photo editing and other pursuits. I really don't want to invest any additional dollars on a machine just used for play and such.
