Winged W cue?

A fellow APA member just bought this cue and no one can identify it. The logo is a winged W. The inlay work is sharp and crisp, very nice windows and ringwork. The ferrule looks like wood almost, may be a darker plastic material. The linen wrap is frayed and the finish is damaged in a couple of small places, but overall it's in good condition and rolls arrow-straight. Wood to wood joint, pin looks a little smaller than my 5/16-18. Can anyone identify this cue?

Robert Weir Cue...made in the early to mid 80's. It was it was believed to be a custom cue at first but I think it was proven to be a production line.

That is a Robert Weir cue made by Adam in the early 90's IIRC. As far as value, maybe $300 since its made in Japan.

I would put it at 1982 to 84. He was not in business very long and the first cue of his I saw, ( I had know him for years), was at Red's tournament in 1983 in Huston. He told me from the start he was not really making the cues himself. It was a real mistake doing that, they were a pretty nice cue he could have just marketed under his name without any deceit. They were original designs of his own, he just didn't really make them.
