I have a First Edition copy of Eddie Robin's book, "WInning One Pocket" that someone is interested in purchasing. I bought the book new in 1996, but have no idea of the current value. I know that there are copies on Ebay sometimes, but I currently can't find anything available.

Can anyone help with the value of this book?

Thanks,
Mike Templeton

Mike,

I bought a copy for $150 on eBay. I've seen it go for as high as $500+.

I would think $200 would be about right.

I have a first edition copy that has only been opened 2 or three times & has the errata sheet (loose pages in back). Would sell for $200 if anyone interested. John Henderson john.h@starband.net

There is a used copy on Amazon right now for under $100.00

Do you have the link? We have the second book, but would like this book and cannot afford to pay big bucks. I love one pocket and would REALLY like to get one. I could probably swing 200 but that is about my limit, because we are kind of strapped with all that we are having to spend getting our condo ready to go on the market.

The link is very long.....all you need to do is go to amazon.com and search for "winning one pocket".

That is a good deal on Amazon.com. The only difference I see is that mine is a first edition copy, and the one on Amazon is second edition.

For someone wanting to read the book and learn the game, and not worry about the condition of the book, the second edition would be better.

Thanks for all the info.

Mike

I sold my copy several months ago for $275.00 . The guy was happy and so was I. The book was in superb conditiona and I hardly ever opened it. I wish that I could profit from all of my Pool books like I did this one!

why is this book so expensive?
It is out of print and has very good information in it about one pocket from some of the best players in the world. some of the players are no longer with us. The two books together are extremely useful in learning one pocket. YMMV
Frank <-would not part with his books

Signed versions of this book go up to 800 bucks. I think Eddie Robbin seriously needs to reprint his books- these books are well liked but hundreds of dollars for a book is getting ridiculous. Maybe he's a genius and kept a bunch of his books that he now sells for 5-10x their original price.

I would love to see these reprinted, and I bet I'm not alone. I own the two onepocket books and I would love to have the three cushion billiards books as well.
Does anyone know if Eddie Robin is working on any of the titles predicted in the books? Nine-ball by the world's greatest?

I have sold three copies of "Wining One Pocket" on ebay.
None of my books sold for less than $320 if I remember correctly. One copy was signed by about 30 or so of the greats mentioned or photographed in the book. Robin authored some great books. I just wish he would have or could have kept at it. He had a lot to offer to other players and did an excellent job in each of his books.
