Wipe chalk off tip?

OK, I'll ask it straight up. What is the benefit of NOT wiping off the tip?

In my original list, I couldn't find one.

Reverse thinking...
*) Saving chalk?
*) Not having to chalk the tip on its next use?
*) You like the color of chalk fading up your shaft.
*) ANY others?
