Wisc BCAPL 2015, why only for state leagues?

2015 BCAPL Wisconsin State Championships
February 25 - March 1, 2015

Just wondering why this tournament is exclusive to Wisconsin league players (I'm from Minnesota). We use to have a BCA tournament in Minneapolis and lots of players would come from out of state. Why do people pay BCA sanctions if they can't play the tournaments in their region?

There are numerous state and regional BCAPL tournaments throughout the country. This particular one just happens to be a state championship.

We would of course be interested in starting or supporting a state or regional BCAPL event in Minnesota as well. We can't do all of the state and regional events ourselves but we can provide the necessary support to help get them going and sustainable.

We use to have the BCAPL Midwest Regional Championships in Minnesota. 2012 was the last year I think. I'm not sure why it stopped.

What's the closest event that someone BCA sanctioned from MN could play? I don't see any events on the upcoming calendar except Nationals in Vegas and Southwest Regional in Arizona.
 
Pretty sure the Midwest Regionals that were in Minnesota use to be organized by Bad Boys. They work for CSI and run events correct?

Forgive me as I'm ignorant on how these are supported and funded. I thought most of these BCAPL events are promoted and run by CSI.
 
The reason for this being a state championship and not a regional is that the BCAPL is trying to undermine the new independent state organization that has formed. They are not allowing player members either.

I can tell you that all BCAPL events for 2015 are not yet posted. Many of these events are actually run by other organizations and supported by the national office so we often don't get the information far in advance. Thank you.

This is absurd. For many years, there has been a Wisconsin BCAPL State Championship. This is not new.
 
Not absurd

The BCAPL has lost huge numbers in Wisconsin after the group that used to run the the state tournament that required BCAPL sanctioning went independent. This BCAPL tournament is their effort to try to gain back players and is run by the BCAPL and not by a state run organization (as in the past 15 years). The BCAPL used to kick back $6,000 for that group to run the state tournament. IMO, they want leagues to form to gain back the membership and player members don't help that goal. Frankly, I don't see it happening there is some interest, but the independent org (WSPA) is offering $35,000 in added money to their tournaments this year, reducing entry fees, $8 per person per year sanction fees that 100% stays in Wisconsin (I might add you only pay once for a year) and is gaining more membership every day. The BCAPL is always throwing barbs at the new org in every marketing emails or posts that come out, it appears that they taken the ratings from the independent org website and call the ratings their own. This is not a friendly relationship between these two organizations.
