wisconsin player

what cues?

I'm sure your wife pawned them off for maja money! she's gotta get as much of it in now before the rugrat arrives!

Not anything in the Wausau area unless Mickeys has something going on. I'll let you know. Just curious, ever played on the big table there, pockets are pretty tight. Cory

appleton, yes the bcw is still here but the players are not!

Good to see you're still around. Shame all the pool action seems to have died in Wisconsin. Lots of great players came out of that state, it seems like you were one of the last of a dying breed, at least around Wisconsin. Good luck to you.

Ed

Boy it sure sounds like you are someone I should know. Also played in the BCW in the 80's and also from LaCrosse!

I just think most of the good players from Wisconsin moved away or stopped playing because of lack of competition.

I moved away 6 years ago to Phoenix and there are 100's of weekly tournaments, many different places to go for action any day and time of the week. And it's 12 months a year, not just in the winter like it is here.

I found a couple weekly tourneys in West Allis, but most are single elimination or race to 1. What's the point?

In Vegas for the BCA I saw a few teams from Wisconsin, but none that looked all too strong. The Masters Team from The Pour House in Hartford, WI, don't even live in Wisconsin, they all live in Illinois.

I'll continue my quest to find some players in the Milwaukee burbs before heading up to the Fox Valley.

Good point. No wonder I can't find them!!!

BTW it's Mahjong, stupid FIB's can't even spell. Go Bears 89-76-6 vs Packers all time.

Not much for tournaments or action anywhere in Madison right now. You can always the try the two best players in the state, Chad Lund and Dan Schneider.

I don't even know where my cues are it's been so long since I played.

If Chad can hang with LJ then he has caught a serious gear. Last time I saw Chad play he was playing a aquaintance of mine in the finals of a BCA tourney at Sharkeys and he was being a lil bi**h about a shot that he believed wasn't called. So my aquaintance banked out the rest of the set to beat him and add salt to the wound.

Chad doesn't play LJ's speed at all. Although I would be happy to stake LJ if Chad thought he could play with him. I just say they are the two best players because that is what they like to assume because not many want to play them. Truth is Chad doesn't have any money and Dan doesn't pay when he loses.

Tom - Titles back when old people like you used to ride horses to school don't count. So I have Superbowl rings tied at 1-1. :p

WI Players

If interested in tourneys, lets get a email list and phone number list together. This is Scott Dulian from Chippewa Falls. Been out of the pool scene for a year, but coming back. As for tourneys John, doubles tourney on Twin States website for June 28th, also on in Hayward this weekend I believe. Last pocket, 200 added???, first was around 450 when Debruyckere won. Action also. 5 and 10. Also, there is probably more action in the Chippewa Valley than any other city in WI. At least based on population. And for you John, there is Chad D, and I heard Geno is BACK. For e-mails and numbers, my email address is dulian1@aol.com
I will reply to emails with a phone number. Also, this applies to any WI players. Lets grow pool in our state. Hope to hear from ya.

Superbowl rings are 3 - 1, and you really should be dropped to a .5 because of that stupid shuffle.

The old Sharky's in Waukesha has become "Master Z's Cue Club". They have a weekly Thursday Tournament on brand new 9' Olhausen tables. And I guess they have a bunch of Diamond Barbox's as well.

I heard they have been getting between 20 and 25 people each week.

$20 entry.

That's fantastic news!!!! Sharkey's was horrible. Last time I was home a friend of mine was talking about taking a 2 pound hammer to the center of each table. How is the scene there now? There was a pretty rough crowd in there at times.

New pool hall opening in Eau Claire. Olhausen 8 and 9 footers, and a few bar boxes. The name is London Road Billiards. Easy to get to. Will keep updated on tourneys when they get up and running.

I'll let you know after tonight. I heard they did a huge overhaul of the entire place. And the Mayor was actually there for the Ribbon Cutting ceremony. Apparently he made some comment about how it took a flood to get Sharkey's out of there. Sharkey's had bad people in there and caused alot of neighborhood noise complaints at bar time.

Master Z's is a great pool and dart shop in the Milwaukee Area, so I know they have done this place up nice.

I'll report back after I win the tourney tonight.

Always great to hear that NEW places are opening up in the area. Let us know about tourneys and I bet we can get some AZBers over there. And from the twin cities as well.

Well, I checked out Master Z's Cue Club in Waukesha last night. What a great job they have done in turning that into a superior pool hall. They have 12 - 9' Olhausen's with Simonis, 1 VIP House Table (Extremely Nice), and they have 5 Diamond BarBoxes that looked like they haven't been touched.

The tourney was a pretty good. My only gripe is that the Handicap's were a little extreme on both ends. I got rated an 'AA' player and all my races went to 7 games. Master's players went to either 8 or 9. I won my first match 7 - 4 against a Master's player. Then in my next match the guy I played only went to 4. I was a little skeptical, because I saw him shooting and he was no C player. He wins the toss, breaks and runs the first rack. No easy out, with 2 tough cut shots. Next rack, he breaks, runs 2 balls and gets hooked. He pulls out his jump cue, jumps 1/2 ball from 6" away and draws back for perfect shape. He ended up dogging the 7 ball. I asked the TD about the rating and he said, "He'll screw it up soon or later". I got to the hill, but he ran out from the 5 and then again from the 3 for the win.

It was interesting to say the least. But pretty good tournament.

If you finish in 1st or 2nd, the next time your race goes up 1 game. If you don't finish in the money 4 times you go down 1.

$20 entry and 100% payback.

There website will be up soon.

I live in Arizona, so I'm use to having 2 or 3 tourneys a night to pick from so this has been surprisingly difficult.

One of our Katrina refugees mentioned the same thing.

Do the Arizona weekly and monthly tournaments all add money?

I have noticed another thing with some pool halls having NO ENTRY FEE tournaments around the country. Do you all have NEF tournaments?

Lil John and anyone else.....

Come on down to Lennys in milwaukee or Romines south. Still a few rack-runners that gamble, Scott
