Wisconsin WAMO Tournament

I promise to play any of the mentioned people! I'll give weight to all of them also! I hate my money, so please tell them to come get it in beloit. thanks Tom

Tom Cox, you can't be serious about Geno and Tom M. I have a lot of respect for Tom Mcluskey, but I have to believe that Geno's heart wasn't in it when they played. I know that Gene is not the same player, but for the money, I don't think that you can bet on Tom M. Just my opinion. Not barking either. If a game was wanted, I am sure it could happen. As for my Chad DeBruyckere and John Fields statement, that was only because a lot of people on Chad's team think Chad wins. I for one do not. Geno and John would be a tough one. I have to like Geno on a valley. Any other table, and it is probably John. Just my opinion. Take care. Scott Dulian.

It's hard to say because I don't know how much Geno is playing right now but I am sure it's not the same as 10 years back. If Geno was near old form I think Geno is the favorite but that's like comparing Michael Jordan to Wilt Chamberlin, you can argure all day about it but who's correct?

I know Tom hates his money because I have played cards with him and I felt so bad that I had to donate his money I won to Jerry's Kids, unfortunatley Tom is still the primary custodian for all donations. :p

scott, when gene and I played he was offered to bet 50 a game big table 9-ball or bartable 10-ball.He declined and said he'd play 20 a game bigtable 9-ball.I'll play gene I think he plays good and I don't have to win, but I'll definately play.I have a free weekend the last weekend of march.Tell gene if he'd like ,I'll come to jeremy's pool room and play some saturday nite and sunday.847-226-4281 call me . hope all is well . Well if you will give them weight then I am in trouble. I don't think Petey will play though. He may do so if nobody is around to see it. What would you be willing to give up on a barbox playing 10-ball against me? How about banks on a barbox against me? I may even consider 8-ball with simply games on the wire against you. Let me know....

8-ball, 1 game to 6, ten-ball the wild 8 and the last three, banks even(I never play banks). let me know I don't have a line on you,and you do with me, so it's hard to say what fair is! but I'll try any of those games.

I have never seen you play but I have seen your accomplishments. That being said, I know enough to have an idea of what might be fair so that we are both gambling. One game going to six playing 8-ball is not going to be "fair". I am not supposed to ever win that matchup. Playing Banks even is still in your advantage because I don't play that much myself. I know one rail shots and a couple of two rail and one three rail shot that I can do fairly consistently. Apart from that I don't know a lot. On the 10-ball game though....that is more "in line". I am sure that you may still have the edge on me with that spot. But, I am willing to give that a try. At least I feel like I may have a chance to win in that matchup.

Is there anyone in your area that is able to Stream these events? I always like seeing people play that I've heard of, but just live in different parts of the country and are not able to see.

I think it would be cool if the Carom Room tournaments were streamed as well. Both Masters and Non-Masters Monthly's.

I'm going to try and get down to Beloit this summer when we are in Wisco visiting the family.

A fair game of 8-ball between you and patrick is 10-7....Afair game of 10 ball would be WILD 8 and the last 2.

Yes, as I have mentioned in another thread that is one of our goals with the Carom Room events for the fall.

If you come during the summer (June - Sept) we have a nice league running on Wednesday nights that fills the house and brings out many of the good local players.

If you are talking about the Wisconsin area, isn't Larry "THR TRUTH Nevel living back up there. I'm not sure if he"s playing much but i'm sure he'd have to be one of the favorites at any game.

Yeah Nevel plays in some of the WI area events...

He won the last Open event at the Carom Room and I am sure he will be a favorite in the event there tomorrow. However, he doesn't have to win this event. There are a lot of strong barbox players in the field and with a short race format to six and alternate breaks...any solid player playing well and consistent that day can snap the whole thing off.

Rumor has it

That some Milwaukee players would gladly play using push-out rules instead of one foul ball-in-hand playing 8-ball for the cheese.....any takers?

Sorry, but I don't understand what this means?

Push-out rules for 8-ball instead of BIH rules?

Thanks!

Clarification

What I mean is playing straight in call your pocket but there is no ball in hand. We typically play this way on the Sunday leagues in which I play in the city. So...you can play safe using your opponents ball. In fact, you can even push out on your turn instead of hitting anything. However, your opponent has the option of either taking his turn or making you shoot again. They have adjusted the rules to state that on the third consecutive pushout, an object ball must be hit and something go to the rail or your opponent does get ball in hand.

Also, on the 8-ball you MUST call safe if you are not going to hit the 8-ball first. Also, you must make contact with an object ball or the 8-ball before the cue ball contacts a rail. If you do not contact the object ball or 8-ball first and either pocket a ball or a ball does not contact the rail afterwards it is loss of game. Likewise if you scratch in this process while you are on the 8-ball it is loss of game.

Granted it is out of date but it does get you thinking more about ball movement and position play. This league did a lot to improve my safe game. It also teaches you patience. I certainly would not recommend only playing in such a league but it really helps to round out your skillset if you are an aggressive runout player. I used to get my ass handed to me regularly because I would play "wide open" in that league.
